§ T.5Tools · Handle desk

Same name, everywhere?

Handle ideas for your business name, checked against each platform's length and character rules, with a link to each profile page so you can see for yourself whether it is taken.

Form / T.5

Find a handle

Try

Not an availability check. We do not look inside social networks. We test each handle against the platform’s length and character rules, then link to the profile page. If the page exists, the handle is taken. Only the platform can confirm it is free, when you try to claim it.

№ 0000 · Nothing on file

Type a name above. We build the handles from its letters and numbers.

Rules we check

PlatformLengthAllowed
Instagram1–30letters, numbers, periods and underscores
X4–15letters, numbers and underscores
TikTok2–24letters, numbers, periods and underscores; no trailing period
LinkedIn3–100letters, numbers and hyphens (company page address)
YouTube3–30letters, numbers, underscores, hyphens and periods

Published rules at the time of writing. Platforms change them.

§ T.5.1How it works

Three steps, no sign-up.

  1. Step 01

    Enter the name

We build the handle from the name: letters and numbers only, so Northwind & Co becomes northwindandco.

  2. Step 02

    Check the rules

Each candidate is tested against every platform's length and allowed characters. A struck-through chip says why it cannot work there, for example that X handles stop at 15 characters.

  3. Step 03

    Look at the profile

Open any chip to see the profile page on the platform. A profile that exists means it is taken. A "page not found" is the platform telling you it is probably free.

§ T.5.2Inquiries

Fair questions.

Q.01Does this check whether a handle is available?
No. We do not scrape social networks, and nobody can tell you for certain from outside the platform. We check that the handle is legal there and open the profile page so you can look. Availability is only confirmed when you try to claim it in the app.
Q.02Why is a handle struck through?
It breaks a rule on that platform, such as too many characters, or a period where only underscores are allowed. The reason is written under the handle.
Q.03Are the rules up to date?
They are the published rules at the time of writing. Platforms change them, so treat a pass as "worth opening" and the platform as the final word.
Q.04Which variants should I take?
Take the same handle everywhere if you can. If you cannot, prefer a consistent suffix, such as hq or official, across all platforms over a different workaround on each.
