The Unofficial Name RegistryAI business name generatorVol. I — No. 274 ● Domain desk open

§ 09Terms of use

The terms, in plain words.

Short on purpose. What the site is, what it does not promise, and what we ask of you.

Last revised 10 October 20268 clauses

The short versionNot the whole policy
  • bizname.io is not a government register. Nothing here registers, reserves or protects a name.
  • The names are suggestions. A name being free as a domain does not mean you may use or trademark it.
  • Domain results are indicative. Confirm at a registrar before you buy anything.
  • Names you generate are yours to use. We claim no ownership and make no promise that nobody else has the same one.
  • The service is free and provided as it is. Be decent in shared boards.

§ 01

Using the site

bizname.io generates business name ideas, checks whether matching domains look available, and offers tools to help you and other people choose between names. You may use it for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial, without an account.

bizname.io is not a government register and is not connected to any company, business-name or trademark office. The filings, forms, file numbers, stamps and certificates are how the site is designed. Nothing here registers, reserves or protects a name, and a Certificate of Name is a keepsake, not a legal document.

Do not use the site to overload it (automated bulk requests to the generator, domain lookups or share-image routes), to probe it for weaknesses, or to put unlawful or abusive content into a shared board or room. We apply rate limits and may block traffic that ignores them.

§ 02

Names are suggestions, not clearance

Generated and example names are ideas produced by an AI model or written by hand. They may be similar or identical to an existing business, product or trademark. We do not search trademark registers, company registers, social handles or app stores.

Before you print, register or announce a name, search your country’s trademark and company registers and, where the stakes justify it, ask a qualified lawyer. A free domain does not mean a name is free to use.

§ 03

Domain results

Availability is read from registry and DNS services at the moment you look, and can be wrong or out of date: a domain that has just been registered, is on hold or is being sold may show as open. A .co result in particular is likely rather than certain. Only the registrar’s checkout confirms a domain is yours.

Links to registrars lead to sites we do not run. Any purchase is between you and that registrar. The links to Namecheap are affiliate links, so we may earn a commission on a purchase, at no extra cost to you.

§ 04

Your content and ours

What you type and the names you save belong to you. You give us only the permission needed to process them for the feature you used: sending a description to an AI provider to return names, or storing a board or room for 30 days so the people you shared it with can see it. The privacy policy lists exactly where that goes.

The site’s design, code, hand-written example names and guidance are ours and may not be copied wholesale or resold. You may quote short passages with a link back.

§ 05

Team votes and match rooms

A board or room is open to anyone with its link, and expires 30 days after its last activity. You are responsible for who you share a link with and for what you put in a board. We may remove content or boards that are abusive or unlawful.

Votes are a decision aid, not a binding record. We do not guarantee that a board survives until you need it: save the outcome yourself.

§ 06

No warranty, limited liability

The site is provided as it is and as available, free of charge. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free or that a name, domain result or vote tally is correct. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from using the site, including loss from relying on a name or domain result. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

§ 07

Changes

We may change the site and these terms. The date at the top shows the last revision, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. See About for what the site is for.
