§ T.4Tools · Tagline desk
A name needs a second line.
Give us the name and say what the business does. You get eight taglines, each set under your name as a wordmark so you can judge them in place.
Write the taglines
№ 0000 · Nothing on file
Add a name and a line about the business. The taglines are set under the wordmark.
§ T.4.1How it works
Three steps, no sign-up.
- Step 01
Name and what you do
Add the business name, and one or two plain sentences about what it sells and to whom. Specific beats clever: "repairs vintage cameras" beats "creative solutions".
- Step 02
Read all eight
Each line is set under the name, the way it would appear on a sign or a card. Look for the ones you would say out loud.
- Step 03
Copy and adjust
Copy any line, or use it as a starting point. Run it again for eight more. The good ones are usually one edit away.
§ T.4.2Inquiries
Fair questions.
Q.01Who writes the taglines?
Q.02Are the taglines unique, and can I trademark one?
Q.03What do you do with what I type?
Q.04Why do some lines feel generic?
