True Torque
A precise measure that mechanics respect, and a promise of correct work, in two hard-sounding words.
§ 39Industry file · Automotive or repair
Car owners dread repair bills and distrust mechanics, so a garage name does a lot of quiet work. It should sound straightforward and skilled, fit a sign over a bay door and survive a Google review. Speed and chrome imagery are everywhere; honesty and craft are scarcer.

The industry is already filled in. Say what is particular about yours (the street, the customer, the thing you do better) and you get twelve more names with their domains checked, each typeset as a brand.

An engine part that gearheads love, with a friendly ampersand; reads as a proper workshop.
A tool and a street: a shop with a lived-in feel and a good sign shape.
What a car does while you wait, and the name of a good waiting room; a gentle name for a repair shop.
A dark book of repairs kept straight, with Auto for clarity; sounds careful and a bit old-school.
A wry pairing for a place that also serves coffee in the waiting area; memorable and unusual.
Small part that keeps a seal; short, mechanical and easy to remember.
A friendly, street-like name that sounds like a classic garage; easy to put on a sign.
A clear, light mechanical image and Works to set it as a workshop.
A shift that gets you moving; works for a used-car dealer or a tuning shop.

§ 03House rules
Mechanics are not trusted by default. Words about being fair, true or straight (Fair Wrench, True Torque) answer the fear before the customer says it.
People search “brake repair near me”, not for your brand. Put Auto, Repair or Garage in the name or the line under it so your listing lines up with the search.
Terms such as certified, authorised and dealer can be legally restricted, and manufacturer names (Ford, BMW) cannot be used without permission. Use the make only in a descriptive way.
A name sits on a long horizontal sign. Two or three words with a clear rhythm fit; long words and numbers do not.
A name that mentions a make or a type (hybrids, classics) attracts that crowd and puts off others. A general one works for most garages.

§ 06After the shortlist
A automotive or repair shop name is easy to love in a list and hard to keep once it is on a door. Save the ones that slow you down, then put them through these.
